Dear Colleagues and Friends,
It is our great pleasure to invite you to join us in Rome, Italy, for the 122nd Annual Meeting of the New York Section of the American Urological Association, to be held August 30 through September 5, 2026. Leila and I are delighted to welcome you and your guests to one of the world’s most extraordinary cities for a week that promises outstanding education, memorable shared experiences, and the unmistakable joy of being together in Italy.
Rome is a city that rewards curiosity. From ancient ruins and Renaissance masterpieces to lively piazzas, neighborhood trattorias, and evening strolls past illuminated fountains, the Eternal City offers a sense of history and vitality unlike anywhere else in the world. While many of you may have visited Rome before, we have carefully designed this meeting to include unique venues, curated experiences, and special access that will make this visit both fresh and memorable.
We will arrive in Rome on Sunday, August 30, with an afternoon orientation followed by an evening welcome reception—an opportunity to reconnect with colleagues and set the tone for the week ahead. Scientific sessions will begin on Monday morning and continue throughout the week, balanced with cultural and social programming. As always, the meeting will conclude with a festive Gala Dinner on Friday, with departures planned for Saturday, September 5th.
Our home for the week will be the St. Regis Rome, a landmark luxury hotel ideally located near the historic center of the city. Renowned for its elegant interiors, exceptional service, and refined Roman grandeur, the St. Regis provides a sophisticated and comfortable setting for both our scientific sessions and social gatherings. Its central location allows easy access to Rome’s iconic sites while offering a tranquil retreat at the end of each day.
During the week, we will enjoy guided visits to many of Rome’s most iconic landmarks, including the Colosseum, the Vatican, and other historic and architectural treasures that define the city. Time will also be built in for wandering Rome’s neighborhoods, enjoying its cuisine, and experiencing the city at its best. We will visit a local winery and olive grove in the Roman countryside, where we will learn about regional wine and olive oil production, stroll through vineyards and groves, and enjoy tastings paired with local cuisine—an experience designed to showcase a different and more intimate side of Italy.
In addition, we are planning several special excursions beyond the city. One highlight will be a full-day trip to Florence, where we will explore the historic heart of the Renaissance, its art and architecture, and enjoy a visit to the Salvatore Ferragamo Museum, celebrating the best of Italian design, innovation, and craftsmanship.
The scientific program is being expertly developed by an outstanding team of leaders with global recognition in their respective fields. Dr. Samir Taneja serving as Senior Scientific Chair, is joined by Drs. Benjamin Brucker, Jim Hu, Grace Hyun, and Michael Palese as Scientific Program Chairs.
Spouse and guest programming will provide a rich array of cultural and social options in both Rome and Florence, allowing ample time for relaxation, exploration, and discoveries of Italian artisanship and gastronomy.
Leila and I hope you will join us for what promises to be a truly special New York Section meeting. We very much look forward to welcoming you and once again creating unique and memorable experiences together.

Warm regards,
Hossein Sadeghi-Nejad, MD, FACS
