Program Description |
Westchester Medical Center/New York Medical College Chairman: Muhammad S. Choudhury, MD Program Director: Program Coordinator: Cindy Christiano Program: Program Description: The Urology training program at Westchester Medical Center is a 5-year (0.5+4.5) residency designed to expose trainees to advanced percutaneous renal surgery, endourology, robotics, open pelvic and reconstructive surgery, pelvic floor reconstruction, basic science research, and genitourinary oncology. The program has a primary site and three participating sites that provide training in community, suburban/urban, and academic centers and allow residents to enter practice fully trained for delivering high quality care to their community or to enter fellowship training for post-graduate enrichment. We aim to provide the latest in innovative care, from single port robotic surgery and perineal fusion prostate biopsy, to transgenic cancer research, and clinical trials. We also aim to provide a program with strength in all urology sub-specialties (e.g. FPMRS, Endourology) to better accommodate the personal interests of the individual trainee. |
