Program Description:

The primary goal of the Urology Program at The New York Presbyterian Hospital-Weill Cornell Medical Center is to provide an integrated training program that provides the best training available to residents who are superb clinicians and prepared to enter academic medicine or private practice. The program focuses on the principles needed to be excellent practicing urologists, and provides them with an educational foundation that prepares them for the changes in urologic practice that will occur in the future. There is an emphasis by the faculty on preparing residents to contribute to the field of urology in the future. Our goal is also to provide residents with the strongest possible background, as well as personal faculty support to participate in either clinical and research fellowships if desired. The Program is particularly attuned to innovations in urology and attempts to prepare the residents for emerging fields such as robotic-assisted or laparoscopic urologic surgery, reconstructive and minimally invasive techniques, novel therapies for benign prostatic hyperplasia, and multi-modal treatment of sexual dysfunction and infertility.
